Who’s ready to re-charge their healthy habits with me?

So, here’s how this is going to work:

I’ve put together a list of 7 healthy habits that I’ve been totally slacking up on lately. 7 habits that are an important part of a truly happy and healthy lifestyle, and that I need to reconnect with. Over the next 30 days (until August 28th), anytime I incorporate any of the 7 habits into my day, I’ll post about it on my blog, Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook with the hash tag #ReChargeChallenge. 

And now here’s the fun part… You guys are gonna do this with me! (That is, if you want to, of course.) I created this challenge for myself because I want to reconnect with each of these 7 habits and re-charge my body so that it will remember how much happier and healthier it feels when exercise, wholesome & intuitive eating, and relaxation are part of the main focus of my day. And I’m sharing the challenge with you all for two reasons:

1.) I always want to be honest here. These 7 habits… I’ve been seriously slacking on them lately. I’m taking this as an opportunity to show you that I’m not perfect (nobody is), and even though I’ve discovered a deep connection with health and fitness, I still slip up sometimes. And that’s OK.

2.) I want to help you become your healthiest, most fit self. I’m calling this challenge the “Re-charge” challenge. But you can totally do this even if you’re just starting out on your fitness journey and these habits are brand new to you. In fact, if that’s the case, even better! Anyone and everyone can do this.

So, keep reading for my 7 healthy habits, and over the next 30 days, practice them to the best of your ability. A Bit more Background and My 7 Healthy Habits:

I don’t know if it’s the summertime, or the stress of transferring my job to a new location and hunting for a new apartment, or not being able to run, but most of my healthy habits have been hiding on the back burner lately and I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all.

If there’s one all-important thing that I’ve learned on my health and fitness journey so far, it’s that there’s no room for excuses.

It’s so easy to blame my extra ice cream indulgences on the fact that it’s summertime. I can point fingers at my busy schedule for the slack in my yoga practice. I could accuse stress for my less than stellar eating habits. But excuses are always empty. They’re just another way of saying, “My goal really doesn’t mean that much to me. I don’t really want this that badly.”

But health and fitness do mean a lot to me. And I do really want to continue to uphold all of the healthy habits that have helped me get to where I am today. Which is why I created this 30-day Healthy Re-charge Challenge.

Each healthy habit I’m about to share, are habits that I feel were the most important in helping me achieve my highest level of health and fitness ever. You’ll probably notice that there’s a very small focus on exercise here, and that’s because exercise is not the area I’ve been skipping out on. It’s the healthy habits that help supplement a good workout routine that I’ve been letting slip up. Which is why this challenge is more about healthy lifestyle habits than exercise.

Like I said earlier, maybe some of these habits will be new to you, or maybe like me, you’ll be re-connecting with things that somehow slowly slipped out of your routine. Either way, the goal is to go through each day checking off as many steps from the list as possible.

Are you going to check off all 7 every single day? Probably not. And that’s OK. The goal isn’t to be perfect. It’s to set the focus back on feeling happy and healthy by making wholesome, healthy food choices, practicing mindful, intuitive eating, and relaxing the mind and body.

Remember: Every day won’t be perfect. Some days your workout just won’t fit into your morning routine. No biggie. Schedule if for later in the day. Sometimes you might accidentally catch yourself browsing through Instagram while you’re eating lunch. Oh well, it’s not the end of the world. Tomorrow’s a new day. The point isn’t to be perfect. It’s to slowly start or re-ignite a solid connection with a truly healthy lifestyle.
